This post (number 1356) was originally uploaded to highlight the complete misrepresentation (or lies is probably a more accurate description) about an online conversation I had in January with a 'local birder' and grouse shooting apologist (..."ignore the raptor killings"). The views rocketed past the normal numbers I get for my usual posts by a factor of at least 5 or 6 in just under a week. Given the levels of interest the post generated it was pretty much a case of 'job done', so I removed the post, as it was unrepresentative of what my blog is about, and it was sitting just outside of my top 10 most viewed posts. Despite having removed the content, it has still been picking up views and is now in my top 10 most viewed posts of all time. As folk are still looking at "this" post, I figured it made sense to at least have something more interesting than a blank page to look at. So....
As well as photos, I sometimes shoot short videos of the wildlife I find and upload them to my YouTube channel. - https://www.youtube.com/@stonefaction/videos These videos are very variable in quality - mostly handheld and with no editing (except in a few isolated cases, where audio has been removed), but they are shot for my own interest. I usually don't post videos on this blog, though sometimes I will share the more interesting ones on Twitter/Facebook/BlueSky. Somehow, despite the variable quality of the videos and almost zero promotion of the channel I have over 250 subscribers to the channel. The main reason for having the channel is as a repository for my wildlife videos (as they can and do take up quite a bit of space on a PC hard drive) and I now have over 1400 clips on the channel. So here's a few of them, (taken on a variety of cameras), posted to fill the empty hole that was left after I took down the original post here. There might be something of interest below....
