When I started this blog way back on Hogmanay 2013, I wasn't really sure
how long I would be producing it for. Here 5 years and 8 months later
it is still going. Numbers of readers fluctuate wildly, sometimes as a
result of the time of day I post a link to the latest post on Twitter.
So as always, a big thank you to everyone who reads this blog,
especially those who subscribe and read each post. It is always nice to
bump into someone who then proceeds to tell me they read it, and some
even enjoy it. Also a big thank you to those who I go birding with, in
particular - Paul and Ian who have been largely responsible for me
adding a few lifers this year, and even a trip into foreign territory
for a couple (with Ian - Little Owl and Baikal Teal, with Lesser Scaup
in Scotland the same day). Thanks also to everyone who shares
information, be it in person, by text, or through Fife Bird Club
grapevine, and via Twitter also. It is always appreciated.
These 245 photos below are all from 2011 in chronological order, the majority of which have not been posted on here before. Some are on my flickr page (www.flickr.com/stonefaction ) along with 1000s of others, and some were on my now-defunct Facebook page. 2011 was quite a good year with self-found Black Tern and Long Tailed Skua as well as good views of record numbers of Storm Petrels off Fife Ness and good views of Firecrest, rather less good views of Dusky Warbler and the opening of Riverside Nature Park which became my patch and for which I became the unofficial bird recorder for the site (143 species recorded since it opened) among the highlights.
