Following on from Saturday's outing to Fife with Ian, a trip to the Angus coast with Susan was arranged in the hope of picking up a few Skuas for her year-list. We started at Elliot where a Long Tailed Skua and an interesting gull with yellow legs (currently unidentified) as well as an Arctic Skua were seen along with a Little Gull. Mediterranean Gull was noted by the pizza restaurant and a look at the terns by the harbour had brief views of a juvenile Roseate Tern as well as another year-tick for Susan in the shape of a Black Tern. At least another 2, possibly 3 Mediterranean Gulls were seen at Victoria Park including a Leipzig ringed 2cy bird. Yet another year-tick for Susan was seen from the cliffs as a young Great Skua gave us a flypast as we stood at the beginning of the path. A successful day out with 55 species seen. Opinions on the ID of the 'yellow legged' Gull are welcomed (subsequently ID'd as most likely a hybrid Lesser Black Backed Gull x Herring Gull).
