Since I started this blog on Hogmany last year I have documented my bird sightings and outings around mostly the local area, with one or two trips slightly further afield, in words and pictures. In that time I've managed to see 186 species of birds. I've also managed to take photos (of variable quality) of most, but not all, of them. So to mark my 100th blog post, here's 100 of those 186 species in pictures.
I'd like to take this opportunity to say many thanks to my (relatively few but very welcome) regular readers and also those who have may have dropped in and out. Without readers this blog would exist solely to keep me occupied of an evening and to provide an online record of my birding this year for me to refer to in future. I am grateful that my words and pictures are of any sort of interest to others. According to the stats for the site, I've had just under 5000 views for 99 posts with the majority of those being from the UK, but with around 500 or so from the USA, and most of the rest from Europe, though with one or two from further afield.
Also many thanks also to those who have allowed me to travel further afield in their company. Without you this blog would probably be even more repetitive than it must sometimes appear.
It has sometimes been a challenge to keep this blog going from time to time (especially throughout the independence referendum run-up when I was otherwise occupied for large periods of time in the evenings), but now that it has finally reached the 100 posts mark, I hope that it will go from strength to strength and the audience will perhaps widen over time. I hope that you enjoy what you read here, and it would be great to hear from more of you, so I know what I'm doing right (or wrong).
Thanks again, folks.
Barry
